So our family finally made it to San Antonio. On Saturday October 6th, the girls and I left our 2 month vacation in Colorado to meet Chris in Amarillo. After a long day's drive, we made it!! We stayed in Amarillo for the night and continued our long journey the next day. We stopped for a few days in Harker Heights, Texas, where we were able to stay with our good friends Tim and Teresa Curran along with thier two boys. It has been may years since we have seen them, so catching up was really nice. On Tuesday, the 10th of October, we set out on the last leg of our journey. It was only a 2 hour drive to San Antonio, but with a huge rainstorm coming through, our drive was more like 3 hours. At times the rain was so bad that we had to slow down to a crawl just to be able to see. When we got to San Antonio, we checked into our hotel, which we would call home for a month, and set off to check out our new home which was still in the process of being built. We were all so excited to finally see what we were going to call home for the next 2 1/2 years. After driving through the neighborhood, and me not feeling 100% safe, we decided that we needed to look elsewhere for a home. The house that Chris was having built was beautiful, but the neighborhood made me feel unsafe as it backed up to an older neighborhood where questionable people were walking around. After spending 2 days looking for another location for a home, we finally found one in a beautiful neighborhood. We are buying the model home. It is in the perfect location, in a cul-de-sac lot that backs up to open land that will not be build on. We overlook an old rock quarry. The quarry is now covered up with mature trees, which makes for a beautiful view. Chris loves the house for the yard, which if you know Chris and his yards, that is saying a lot. We are all so excited to move in and should be able to move in by the end of the month. Other than that, we are all happy to be a family again, and look forward to the future!
